We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Product Design System Intern to join our team at Sigma Computing this summer. As a Product Design System Intern, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our design system, Phi, and contribute to creating user-friendly experiences. This internship is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience in product design while working in a collaborative environment focused on innovation.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the design, documentation, and maintenance of core UI components within the Phi library in Figma.
  • Help audit existing components for consistency and accessibility, ensuring adherence to WCAG standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Designers and Front-End Engineers to ensure accurate implementation of design system components.
  • Write clear usage guidelines and best practices for components to empower product teams.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve workflows between design and engineering.
  • Gather internal feedback on the usability of the design system and propose practical solutions for improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Available to intern full-time from June 2026 to August/September 2026.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Portfolio showcasing systematic design thinking and proficiency with modern design tools like Figma.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US during the internship.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Auto Layout, Variables/Tokens, and component scalability in Figma.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices in design.
