Portfolio Fund Manager - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Portfolio Fund Manager to join our team in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in driving our mission to prevent avoidable blindness and restore sight globally. As a Portfolio Fund Manager, you will lead strategic initiatives in grant development and management, ensuring compliance and effective donor engagement.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic leadership in grant development and contractual management for large, complex portfolios.
- Drive donor engagement and stakeholder relations, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.
- Coordinate grant development processes, including proposals review and contract negotiations.
- Monitor project delivery and identify implementation risks, acting proactively to mitigate them.
- Lead donor communications, ensuring accurate and compliant engagement with stakeholders.
- Implement capacity strengthening initiatives for Program Managers and partners on grant management standards.
- Maintain accurate grant records and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Engage actively in the global Grants Management Community of practice.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Project Management, or Development.
- At least 10 years of extensive experience managing complex grants in the international development sector.
- Strong experience in building skills in grants management with staff and partners.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong diplomatic approach.
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with donors and partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of local languages (Amharic, Oromiffa) is an advantage.
Nice to Have
- Certification in ACCA or similar qualifications.
- Experience working with government partners in Ethiopia.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
