Platform Infrastructure Engineer - Remote SRE Core

About the Role

Menlo Security is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to join our team remotely. As a Platform Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and operating Menlo Security’s Infrastructure Platform, enabling customers to connect to the Internet securely. This remote Platform Infrastructure Engineer position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about automation, reliability engineering, and cloud-native infrastructures.

What You'll Do

• Design, deploy, and maintain VM and Kubernetes infrastructure on GCP and AWS across multiple clusters in various environments.
• Collaborate with peers to ensure tasks effectively solve critical problems.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform modules and manage resources through Spacelift.
• Provision cloud infrastructure including networking, compute, storage, and security components primarily on GCP.
• Implement and manage workflows with sophisticated multi-layer configuration management.
• Develop comprehensive observability solutions using Grafana Cloud, Prometheus/Mimir, and OTel collectors.
• Manage certificate lifecycle, DNS automation, ingress controllers, and service mesh networking with Cilium.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Security teams to design resilient, scalable systems.
• Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation, responding to incidents and driving post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, particularly Python, Bash, and Go.
• Expertise in Kubernetes, including cluster administration and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services including GKE, VPC networking, and IAM.
• Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools.
• Strong understanding of network topologies and communication protocols.

• Familiarity with advanced observability tools.
• Experience in disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
