Platform Accounting Analyst - Remote

About the Role

We are looking for a Platform Accounting Analyst to join our team at Kraken, a leading company in the crypto space. This remote position offers you the opportunity to work with a world-class team dedicated to building the future of crypto. As a Platform Accounting Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our month-end close and reporting processes, supporting various business operations from an accounting and reconciliation perspective.

What You'll Do

• Interface daily with internal systems and our proprietary exchange platform to assist with fiat and digital asset position reconciliations.
• Deliver financial and treasury reconciliations for applicable local entities, ensuring timely communication of funding requirements to Group Treasury.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Research and correct discrepancies while communicating findings to stakeholders across functions.
• Support financial reporting and regulatory requests by providing complete and timely support for responsible areas.
• Maintain and review daily, monthly, and yearly reconciliations for financial accounting issues and reporting.
• Provide support for internal and external audits, including local statutory audit processes.
• Document processes and procedures to ensure proper controls are maintained.

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting/audit experience, preferably from Big 4 or national accounting firms.
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant or local equivalent.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and H & V-Lookup.
• Collaborative and flexible, with strong relationship-building skills across the organization.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Industry experience in crypto, financial services, fintech, or banking.
• Knowledge or interest in cryptocurrency.
• Experience with SQL and high-volume transactions.
• Familiarity with Netsuite.
