About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our HR team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations and ensuring compliance with legal requirements while collaborating with teams in Japan and Dalian. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing employee satisfaction through efficient payroll administration.

What You'll Do

  • Assist team leaders and collaborate with team members to manage payroll and compensation administration.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to payroll services independently, achieving SLA requirements.
  • Implement operational controls to ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Support global and local HR programs and assist in internal/external payroll audits.
  • Guide junior team members and share knowledge to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Manage vendor relationships and optimize payroll systems as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of payroll or compensation & benefits experience in a multinational company.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Japan's business needs, company rules, laws, and HR regulations.
  • Proficient in MS-Office applications, especially Excel/Access; familiarity with VBA is a plus.
  • Experience with business computing solutions, ideally SuccessFactors and ServiceNow.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a good service mindset.
  • Fluent in Japanese and proficient in written English.
