Orthopedic Oncology Consultant - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Oncology Consultant to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will provide expert surgical care in the diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation of hip and knee disorders, including joint preservation, replacement, and revision surgeries. As an Orthopedic Oncology Consultant, you will deliver advanced orthopedic services in alignment with SEHA’s standards for quality, safety, and patient-centered care.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and treat patients with a wide range of hip and knee conditions, including osteoarthritis, avascular necrosis, fractures, deformities, and ligamentous injuries.
- Perform specialized procedures such as total hip and knee replacements, revision arthroplasty, minimally invasive joint surgeries, and arthroscopies.
- Manage preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, ensuring optimal recovery and rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, pain specialists, rheumatologists, and other specialists as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct outpatient clinics, provide inpatient consultations, and lead orthopedic surgical rounds.
- Supervise junior surgeons, residents, and allied health professionals; contribute to clinical teaching and skills development.
- Ensure accurate documentation in SEHA’s electronic medical record systems, including operative reports, clinical notes, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in quality assurance, morbidity and mortality reviews, and continuous clinical improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to SEHA and DOH policies regarding patient safety, surgical protocols, infection control, and ethical standards.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Residency in Orthopedic Surgery and fellowship training in Hip and Knee Surgery or Arthroplasty.
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery (e.g., American Board, FRCS, Arab Board, or equivalent) with recognized subspecialty credentials in Hip & Knee Reconstruction.
- Valid DOH Consultant License in Orthopedic Surgery or eligibility to obtain it.
- Minimum 5 years of post-board certification experience as an Orthopedic Consultant with a dedicated focus on hip and knee procedures.
- Proven experience in complex primary and revision joint arthroplasty.

- Experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
- Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques and their application in orthopedic surgery.
