About the Role

We are seeking a Freelance Audio Contributor - UK English to join our innovative team at Perle. As a Freelance Audio Contributor, you will work remotely and flexibly, making it a perfect fit for detail-oriented individuals who are passionate about language and audio.

What You'll Do

• Record natural, two-speaker conversations using pre-written prompts, ensuring the dialogue remains spontaneous and engaging.
• Transcribe audio dialogues accurately, capturing natural speech patterns and adhering to Perle’s transcription style guide.
• Review and evaluate audio recordings submitted by other contributors, assessing them for clarity, naturalness, and compliance with project specifications.
• Maintain a high standard of quality assurance by flagging recordings that do not meet the required guidelines.
• Work independently to meet batch delivery deadlines while managing your time effectively.

Requirements

• Native UK English speaker with a standard, non-heavily accented British accent.
• Access to a quiet recording environment and a reliable headset/microphone.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written guidelines closely.
• Basic computer literacy, including file management and familiarity with audio uploads.
• Prior experience in transcription, voice work, or data annotation is a plus, but not required.

Nice to Have

• Experience with audio recording equipment and software.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback to peers on audio quality.
