NetZeroCities Programme Finance Officer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated NetZeroCities Programme Finance Officer to join our team remotely. As a key player in our organization, you will support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for the NetZeroCities Specific Grant Agreements. This role is vital for ensuring that our multi-partner EU funded programme effectively supports cities on their path to climate neutrality.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate financial workflows with Programme Managers and Cluster Manager.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures, identifying variances and supporting corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain financial management tools and processes.
• Support budget execution and contracting for the City Expert Support Facility.
• Contribute to internal budgeting processes and monitor budget performance.
• Facilitate timely and accurate grant and supplier payments.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Ensure compliance with funding rules and support funder audits.

Requirements

• AAT qualification or a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in accounting or financial project management.
• Experience working in the not-for-profit sector.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Experience with international grant funded projects.
• Fluent in English; an additional European language is an advantage.
• Comfortable using collaborative digital tools with advanced Excel skills.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Experience with EU/Horizon grant funding is desirable.
