Network Engineer with Python - Remote Position

About the Role

We are looking for a Network Engineer with Python to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This position is ideal for those who thrive in a dynamic environment and are eager to tackle complex networking challenges. As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our IT infrastructure and ensuring the reliability of our electronic trading environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide critical thinking to complex problems in a 24/7, mission-critical network environment.
• Automate and eliminate manual elements of the network infrastructure and supporting processes.
• Support remote datacenter design and management.
• Implement and support network and security monitoring tools to identify anomalies, detect threats, and maintain compliance across infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotation duties and work some weekend shifts for maintenance support.
• Collaborate with the IT team to progressively improve existing IT infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, layer-2/3, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), multicast, QoS, and latency tuning.
• Experience with automation and scripting languages, particularly Python.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to multi-task effectively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with management, vendors, and external parties.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a financial or trading environment.
• Familiarity with network security principles.
• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts.
