MLRO /​ Deputy MLRO - Remote Compliance Role

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated MLRO / Deputy MLRO to join Xapo's global compliance team in a fully remote capacity. As an MLRO, you will play a crucial role in driving compliance controls and operations for our Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Program, ensuring that we meet our regulatory obligations. This MLRO / Deputy MLRO position offers the opportunity to work from anywhere while making a significant impact in the crypto industry.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the implementation and management of compliance controls for Xapo’s AML/CTF activities.
• Monitor the regulatory landscape and conduct annual regulatory risk assessments.
• Draft and submit compliance reports, including the Annual Risk Assessment and MLRO’s Annual Report to the Board.
• Maintain and enhance the AML Framework and policies to align with business and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate risk-based Know Your Customer and Transaction Monitoring programs to identify and report suspicious activities.
• Execute a continuous improvement program driven by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators.
• Build relationships with regulatory authorities and payment schemes to ensure compliance with AFC best practices.
• Support regulatory inquiries and ensure accurate reporting to regulators and authorities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in compliance, particularly within the crypto or financial services sector.
• Ability to be approved by relevant regulatory authorities to hold the official MLRO role.
• Strong understanding of AML/CTF regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in drafting compliance reports and conducting regulatory risk assessments.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
