Middle Database Developer - Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration

About the Role

We are seeking a Middle Database Developer remote to join our ambitious team at M21: Hunt. This role focuses on the complete migration of legacy systems from Oracle to PostgreSQL, allowing you to reshape the core of applications and see the direct impact of your work on key systems.

What You'll Do

• Conduct deep migrations of Oracle packages, procedures, and functions into the PostgreSQL ecosystem.
• Design and create new stored procedures and functions, optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Participate in the development and expansion of our proprietary web platform based on PostgreSQL.
• Migrate business logic from Oracle Forms to a modern web application.
• Influence architectural decisions within a large, long-term project.

Requirements

• Commercial development experience in PL/SQL (Oracle) with a strong desire to dive deep into PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of the architectural differences between Oracle and PostgreSQL (migration experience and FinTech background are significant advantages).
• Ability to work with stored procedures, functions, triggers, and query optimization.
• Willingness to work within a large project with clear deadlines and direct client contact.
• Systematic thinking and accountability for the entire cycle: from task to working solution.

Nice to Have

• Experience in FinTech projects.
• Familiarity with modern web development practices.
• Knowledge of performance tuning in PostgreSQL.
