Mid-Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Fraud & Risk Management
About the Role
North is seeking a talented and data-driven Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) remote to join our dynamic team focused on Fraud & Risk Management. This position is based in our Limerick City Centre office, offering a hybrid work model that allows for both in-office and remote work. As an SDET, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of our innovative platform, which leverages artificial intelligence to tackle challenges in fraud detection and risk assessment.
What You'll Do
- Drive the automated testing efforts to ensure the quality of our cutting-edge platform.
- Build and maintain automated functional and non-functional test suites across APIs, microservices, web applications, and UIs.
- Execute code reviews and peer review processes to uphold code quality and security practices.
- Triage system issues, debugging, logging, and documenting bugs found during testing.
- Research new technologies, including hands-on technical evaluations and proof of concepts (POCs).
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, UI/UX designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Produce and contribute to high-quality documentation.
- Participate in agile conversations and workshops with stakeholders to understand requirements and identify solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a similar SDET role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable discussing technical information.
- Experience with Functional API Testing frameworks (e.g., KarateDSL).
- Experience with Functional UI Testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
- Familiarity with issue-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Experience with test-case management tools (e.g., XRay, Zephyr, TestRail).
- Experience working with RESTful APIs (e.g., cURL, Postman).
- Knowledge of Accessibility best practices.
- Experience implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the financial services, financial technology, and risk management industry.
- Experience with Java Test and Automation frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Cucumber).
- Familiarity with Performance Test tools (e.g., Gatling, K6).
- Knowledge of UX best practices.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo).
- Experience with gRPC.
