Mid-Senior ECLSS Engineer - Space Vehicle Development
About the Role
Join The Exploration Company as a talented ECLSS Engineer for our Modular Space Orbital Vehicle Development. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle. As an ECLSS Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the environmental controls and life support systems are designed and implemented effectively. You will work closely with the Vehicle Design Team and report directly to the ECLSS Principal Engineer.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the ECLSS Principal Engineer and team members to advance the Nyx ECLS Systems.
- Lead the development of ECLSS components and systems from concept to Flight Hardware delivery.
- Conduct qualification and acceptance testing for components and systems.
- Develop and validate analytical models to predict system behavior and inform design decisions.
- Perform component trade studies and provide recommendations balancing performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Support technical exchanges with hardware suppliers and create detailed engineering documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in aerospace or spacecraft projects.
- Experience in design processes, testing, and optimization for manufacturability and reliability.
- Proficient in developing and leading component testing campaigns.
- Familiarity with ECLSS systems, including pressure and air circulation systems.
- Experience with ECSS and NASA standards is a plus.
- Proficient in 3D modeling software and tools like GitHub and Python.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German, French, or Italian is an asset.
