Mid-Senior Data Engineer - Banking & IT Services
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Raiffeisen Group IT GmbH. As a Data Engineer remote, you will play a crucial role in managing data integration from multiple sources and developing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions. What You'll Do
- Manage data integration of multiple sources to ensure seamless data flow.
- Further develop data pipelines, ETL processes, data warehouse, data interfaces, reports, and BI solutions (OLAP, Dashboards).
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to support business needs.
- Create proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and spikes to demonstrate new solutions.
- Proactively ensure code quality and testing to maintain high standards.
- Address non-functional requirements to improve system performance.
Requirements
- Engineering mindset with a passion for data science.
- Professional knowledge in DWH / Data Models (dimensional, data vault, relational, NoSQL).
- Professional experience with ETL tools (Pentaho Data Integration or similar).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with DBMS (PostgreSQL).
- Experience with BI tools (QlikView / QlikSense or similar).
- Familiarity with software engineering concepts like Scrum, CI/CD, and TDD.
- German language skills are a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Linux / Bash.
- Experience in Cloud Environments / Docker.
- Knowledge of Python and Java.

Who Will Succeed Here
Proficient in building and optimizing data pipelines using ETL processes and tools such as Apache NiFi or Talend, with a strong focus on data warehousing solutions in a PostgreSQL environment.
Ability to thrive in an office setting with a hands-on approach to problem-solving, leveraging Scrum methodologies to manage projects and ensure timely delivery of data solutions.
Experience with CI/CD practices and TDD in a Linux environment, demonstrating a proactive mindset towards automating data workflows and ensuring high-quality code.
