Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer - Navy AI/​ML Initiative

About the Role

Marathon TS is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to support a high-visibility Navy AI/ML initiative focused on predictive analytics and operational readiness. This remote position will allow you to work from anywhere while contributing to the development, deployment, and security of cloud-based applications by integrating security best practices throughout the CI/CD pipeline.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls.
  • Embed security automation throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support cloud infrastructure deployments on AWS and/or Azure.
  • Implement containerization and orchestration solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning, remediation, and compliance validation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure coding practices.
  • Support infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture.
  • Assist with documentation and compliance artifacts as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps / DevSecOps or related engineering role.
  • Experience in secure environments, particularly within compliance-driven environments (DoD preferred).
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Experience with security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, container scanning).
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • AWS or Azure certification.
  • Security+ or equivalent security certification.
  • Kubernetes or DevOps-related certifications.
