Mid-Level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our distributed team at verkstedt. This Cloud Infrastructure Engineer remote role is crucial as it involves designing the systems that keep our applications running smoothly. You will have the opportunity to shape and evolve our cloud setup, focusing on code rather than bureaucracy.
What You'll Do
- Manage our multi-cloud setup across GCP, AWS, and European providers, including managed Kubernetes services.
- Explore and evaluate new tools and services to improve reliability and developer experience.
- Bring fresh perspectives on tooling, automation, and architecture to the team.
- Work on greenfield projects in the healthcare sector.
- Contribute to open source projects and collaborate with the team during our Open Fridays.
Requirements
- Significant experience building cloud setups using Terraform and Kubernetes.
- A genuine passion for building reliable, well-automated systems with clean code.
- Strong ability to find pragmatic solutions for complex problems.
- Self-organized with excellent communication skills.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German is a bonus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI tools to improve workflows.
- Background in digital healthcare or retail media.

Who Will Succeed Here
Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to automate cloud resource management across multi-cloud environments, particularly in GCP and AWS.
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to debugging and optimizing Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and scalability of applications in a remote work setting.
A growth mindset with at least 3 years of experience in cloud architecture and automation, eager to continually learn and implement best practices in cloud security and cost optimization.
