Materials Development Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Materials Development Engineer to join our team remotely. As a key player in our global growth strategy, you will be responsible for selecting materials that meet local legal requirements while aligning with our global sustainability initiatives. This Materials Development Engineer remote position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to innovative projects.

What You'll Do

• Select materials from the local market in the Americas, considering legal requirements and global sustainability standards.
• Collaborate with the purchasing department to release local material suppliers.
• Conduct release testing in cooperation with our materials engineers based in Germany.
• Communicate effectively with development and customer teams regarding material specifications.
• Provide comprehensive materials data for design and simulation processes.
• Assess new local materials and technologies for applicability to Brose products.
• Analyze competitors' products to enhance our material selection process.
• Engage in frequent communication with regional teams to share insights and experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in materials science or materials engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials selection and cost-efficient materials use.
• Fluency in English is a must.
• Knowledge of the North American materials market.
• Experience in collaborating with international partners.
• Strong communication skills and proactive approach.
• Ideally, experience in injection molding.

Nice to Have

• Experience with sustainable materials.
• Familiarity with SAP EH&S systems.
• Knowledge of European and Asian materials.
