Material Engineer - Metallurgist (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Material Engineer - Metallurgist to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the internal material qualification process for aluminum alloys and supporting new program launches through material qualification. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced materials and contribute to product quality.
What You'll Do
- Manage the internal material qualification process for aluminum alloys.
- Oversee the external customer qualification process for aluminum extrusions.
- Maintain internal material standards and specifications.
- Conduct mechanical properties analysis, performance evaluations, and microstructural analysis.
- Develop processes and procedures to carry out work using laboratory equipment and computational tools.
- Create and provide comprehensive reports on testing activities to the Advance Product Development and engineering teams.
- Support new program launches through material qualification.
- Travel may be required for customer and supplier visits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in material engineering, specifically with aluminum alloys.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with mechanical properties analysis.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret technical data and report findings effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
