About the Role

We are seeking a Manager, Legal Counsel (Regulatory Compliance) - Remote to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee compliance with regulatory frameworks and ensure that our operations align with legal standards. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to manage your responsibilities from anywhere in the world.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development and implementation of compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Provide legal counsel on regulatory matters affecting the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address compliance issues and mitigate risks.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support compliance initiatives.
• Manage contract negotiations and ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Oversee compliance training programs for staff to promote awareness and understanding of regulatory obligations.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures to enhance compliance frameworks.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in a legal counsel role, preferably in regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in contract negotiation and legal research.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the SaaS or FinTech industry.
• Knowledge of U.S. compliance and regulatory matters.
• Familiarity with OSFI guidelines and consumer protection laws.
