Maintenance Engineer - Remote Opportunities
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team at Pure Data Centres. This remote Maintenance Engineer position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our data centre facilities.
What You'll Do
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, ensuring continuous operation.
- Perform hands-on maintenance activities, inspections, and site walkthroughs to maintain optimal equipment condition.
- Monitor and respond to incidents, faults, or alarms using BMS, PMS, and CMS to support investigations.
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance in line with site schedules.
- Implement and adhere to the Permit to Work (PTW) and change management processes for all maintenance and critical works.
- Act as an Authorised Person (AP) for electrical switching activities where applicable.
- Ensure accurate operational records, including CMMS/CAFM data, incident reports, and maintenance logs.
- Support alarm management and assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to reduce repeat failures.
Requirements
- Recognized technical qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level, City & Guilds, BTEC).
- Experience in maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- IT literate, including proficiency in MS Office and CMMS/CAFM systems.
- Ability to work in critical environments such as data centres, hospitals, or utilities.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work and experience implementing PTW, RAMS, and Change Management processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair experience of critical building infrastructures.
- Ability to maintain accurate records in a Service Desk/CMMS system.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in customer-facing roles and resolving technical problems in high-pressure environments.
- Knowledge of international HSE standards.
- Experience maintaining HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, and generators.
