About the Role
Join Ubisoft as a Linux Systems Administrator in a remote capacity and be part of a global leader in gaming. In this role, you’ll design, install, configure, monitor, and maintain Linux environments—both on-premises and in the cloud. As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will play a key part in ensuring the stability and reliability of our systems, supporting business-critical services, and collaborating with development teams to build automation and efficient deployment strategies.
What You'll Do
- Manage and maintain Linux servers (Rocky Linux, or Red Hat preferred) in virtualized and cloud environments.
- Implement and optimize automation using configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef).
- Monitor infrastructure with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and web servers such as Nginx or Apache.
- Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker and related tools.
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI/CD.
- Collaborate on cloud infrastructure (Azure) using Terraform.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues (firewalls, load balancers, proxies, etc.).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying ways to enhance system performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Solid experience administering Linux systems (around 4–5 years preferably).
- Strong understanding of IT fundamentals: networking, system architecture, and hardware.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash and Python).
- Experience with version control systems (Git environment) is a must.
- Familiarity with monitoring, automation, and cloud-based solutions.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication style and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Knowledge of security best practices in Linux environments.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
