About the Role

We are seeking a talented Laboratory Engineer II to join our team at Minsur, the third-largest tin producer globally and the leading supplier of this mineral in the Western Hemisphere. This is a unique opportunity for a Laboratory Engineer II to work remotely while ensuring quality control of raw materials, inputs, and finished products. As a Laboratory Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of safety, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

What You'll Do

  • Execute quality control checks on raw materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with physical-chemical specifications and SIG requirements.
  • Perform verification and validation of methods (XRF, EO, classical methods) and record results in LIMS/SAP for traceability and reliability.
  • Conduct sampling and ensure the chain of custody for operational decision support.
  • Implement QA/QC controls and issue certificates/reports, ensuring technical consistency and compliance with internal and client requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance and functionality of analytical equipment, coordinating calibrations and verifications.
  • Evaluate, validate, and standardize methods while implementing statistical controls to enhance analytical precision and stability.
  • Maintain SIG and applicable standards (ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, BASC, RMAP) with document control and audits.
  • Promote health and safety practices in the laboratory, reporting substandard conditions to prevent incidents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Chemical Laboratory Quality Control or at least 3 years in a similar role.
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a Bachelor's in Chemistry.
  • Basic English proficiency.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP and LIMS.
  • Familiarity with sampling techniques and Lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen).
  • Knowledge of ISO standards (17025, 9001, 14001, 45001) is desirable.
  • Experience with Power BI, data modeling, and statistical process control is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
