About the Role

We are seeking an IT & Audio-Visual Technician to join our team remotely. In this role, you will manage the video camera and sound system for our church, ensuring that services are broadcasted correctly on various platforms. As an IT & Audio-Visual Technician, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our worship experience and ensuring seamless communication within our community.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and operate video camera systems and sound equipment during church services and events.
  • Coordinate with the Communication Coordinator to present marketing materials effectively during Mass.
  • Update and maintain the YouTube Mass schedule to ensure accessibility for all parishioners.
  • Provide IT support to staff, collaborating with our IT outsource team to resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor and maintain AV and IT equipment, ensuring optimal performance during events.
  • Administer endpoint management for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, ensuring they are configured and maintained properly.
  • Oversee network administration to guarantee high-speed stability for data-heavy AV streaming.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures in collaboration with our IT outsource provider to protect sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Proficient in operating video camera controllers, audio controllers, and video projection systems.
  • Experience with broadcasting and livestreaming on platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AV software like ProPresenter and OBS.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to support church services.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clergy and staff.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and new technologies as they arise.
  • Understanding of the Catholic Mass and its various components to position camera shots appropriately.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in IT infrastructure management and support.
  • Knowledge of user permissions and SSO integrations.
  • Previous experience in a church or similar environment.
