Intermediate Design Engineer - Electrical Integration

About the Role

We are seeking an Intermediate Design Engineer to join our Electrical Integration team at New Flyer. As an Intermediate Design Engineer, you will be accountable for the completion of complex design tasks and projects from concept to implementation. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to the design of advanced transit bus solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Complete design tasks and project assignments that support field service activities.
  • Coordinate your own tasks, providing status updates and recording time on each task.
  • Create electrical designs that meet customer specifications and ensure compliance with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to ensure adherence to design criteria and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct controlled testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations and verify component fit.
  • Prepare technical drawings and release documents in accordance with engineering procedures.
  • Provide engineering support to various departments including Production and Quality Assurance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering Technology.
  • 5-10 years of design experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • High proficiency in NX CAD software, TeamCenter, and engineering analysis tools.
  • Experience in creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Project management experience is an asset.

  • Experience in the transportation manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations.
  • Ability to travel to the US for project-related activities.
