Industrial Automation Systems Engineer - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
Brighture is seeking an Industrial Automation Systems Engineer to join our team remotely. This role focuses on building real-world industrial automation systems, including automated packaging line equipment and next-generation AMR/AGV solutions for manufacturing and logistics environments in the U.S. As an Industrial Automation Systems Engineer, you will work at the deployment and execution stage, ensuring existing systems are stable, reliable, and deliverable in real customer environments.
What You'll Do
- Own application-level system behavior of AMR/AGV deployments.
- Work with existing navigation systems (ROS2 / Nav2 or commercial stacks) including parameter tuning and stability handling.
- Design, implement, or improve task dispatching and scheduling logic for single- and multi-AGV systems.
- Own central control logic, including task lifecycle management and error handling strategies.
- Debug failures across navigation, scheduling, control, hardware, and networking boundaries.
- Build observability through structured logs, metrics, alerts, and diagnostics for long-running systems.
- Collaborate closely with PLC/controls engineers, hardware teams, and operations.
Requirements
- Experience with real robots or automation systems deployed outside the lab.
- Strong system-level thinking across navigation, scheduling, and control.
- Comfort working with imperfect hardware, noisy sensors, and real-world constraints.
- Ability to take ownership and work independently in a small, fast-moving team.
Nice to Have
- Industrial automation or PLC experience.
- Multi-robot or fleet-level systems experience.
- Experience owning system behavior rather than isolated modules.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
- Visa sponsorship can be discussed for strong candidates.
- Opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.
- Hybrid work model with flexibility.
- Engaging projects that make a real impact in the automation industry.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on real-world industrial automation systems with a focus on stability and reliability. Brighture provides a supportive hybrid work environment and competitive compensation.
Who Will Succeed Here
Proficient in ROS2 and Nav2 for developing and debugging automation systems, with a strong understanding of task scheduling to optimize system performance in industrial environments.
Self-motivated and adaptable to hybrid work settings, demonstrating the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks while collaborating with remote teams.
Detail-oriented problem solver with a hands-on mindset, capable of troubleshooting and optimizing existing automated systems to ensure stability and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
