HR Business Partner - Wood Product Manufacturing
About the Role
We are seeking an HR Business Partner to join our team in Lakeview, OR. This HR Business Partner role is an excellent opportunity for an emerging HR professional looking to grow their career in a supportive environment. What You'll Do
- Provide leadership and guidance to the facility by consulting with supervisors and the Operations Manager on employee issues.
- Oversee safety orientation, onboarding, benefits enrollment, and offboarding processes for new hires and exiting employees.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations to ensure a safe work environment.
- Manage full cycle recruiting for both hourly and salaried positions.
- Ensure accurate input and processing of hourly payroll records in collaboration with the payroll specialist.
- Track and report on affirmative action initiatives for the location.
- Assist employees with filing for state and federal protective leave laws by coordinating with the leave carrier.
- Collaborate with the HR and Safety team on local initiatives to enhance workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support the business unit’s safety program, including workers’ compensation claims and safety audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, safety, business, or a related field; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Minimum of two years' prior experience in Human Resources or payroll.
- Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including recruitment and performance management.
- Previous safety experience is preferred, with OSHA 10 certification required within the first six months.
- Strong skills in conflict management, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and ethical standards.
Nice to Have
- Experience in wood product manufacturing or related industries.
- Advanced HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
- Familiarity with diversity outreach initiatives.
