Head of Technology - Ecosystem Management Platform

About the Role

We're hiring a Head of Technology to lead our innovative ecosystem management and restoration platform at Nabat. This role is pivotal in driving our mission to combat climate change through advanced technology. As the Head of Technology, you will oversee our software, data science, GIS, and infrastructure teams to create a scalable and impactful platform.

What You'll Do

• Own and evolve Nabat’s technology strategy and roadmap, aligning with product, science, and business goals.
• Lead and scale multi-disciplinary engineering teams across software, data science, GIS, and infrastructure.
• Stay technically engaged by reviewing architectures, challenging assumptions, and staying close to implementation.
• Ensure our platform excels in scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Partner closely with product, science, and commercial stakeholders to deliver real-world impact.
• Build a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, learning, and delivery.
• Mentor and develop senior engineers, tech leads, and managers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive technical experience, evolving from hands-on software/AI/platform engineering into principal engineer, tech lead, or engineering manager roles.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, managing and scaling culturally diverse, multi-disciplinary engineering teams of 25+ ICs.
• 3+ years building successful commercial products or platforms in the geospatial/remote sensing/Earth observation/image analytics domain.
• Experience in nature, climate, agri-tech, or similarly scientific, data-intensive domains is a strong plus.
• 3+ years building products where AI, ML, and data science are core to the platform.
• 3+ years in fast-paced, truly agile startup environments.
• Willingness to relocate to the UAE within 3 months.

Nice to Have

• Experience in climate-tech or environmental science.
• Familiarity with drone technology and ecological models.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
