We’re hiring a Head of Tax - Remote to join our innovative team at MoonPay. In this pivotal role, you will lead the establishment and scaling of our global tax function, ensuring compliance and optimization in a rapidly evolving landscape. As a leader in the crypto and fintech sectors, you will help shape the future of financial empowerment through blockchain technology.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute MoonPay’s global tax strategy to support our rapid growth across multiple jurisdictions.
• Drive tax-related initiatives, including structuring, reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
• Lead tax policy and interpretation for digital assets, payments, and related financial products.
• Oversee direct, indirect, and transaction-based taxes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Design and maintain robust intercompany transfer pricing policies.
• Advise on tax implications for international expansion and acquisitions.
• Monitor emerging global tax regulations and manage risks with regulators and auditors.
• Lead a high-performing tax team capable of scaling with MoonPay’s growth trajectory.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive tax-related experience, ideally in multinational corporate tax leadership.
• Deep expertise in tax compliance, transfer pricing, international tax, and digital assets tax.
• Experience leading a tax team for a pre-IPO or public company.
• Strong working knowledge of payments, financial services, and regulatory frameworks for crypto.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• CPA or equivalent qualification required; advanced degree preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the fintech or blockchain sectors.
• Hands-on involvement in IPO readiness and SEC reporting.
• Ability to balance technical tax expertise with regulatory and commercial decision-making.
