Head of Risk - Remote Position at Nexus International

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Risk to join Nexus International, an international iGaming operator, in a fully remote capacity. As the Head of Risk, you will lead our sportsbook risk strategy during a critical growth phase, ensuring robust risk governance and exposure management.

What You'll Do

• Develop and lead overall sportsbook risk strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Establish scalable exposure management frameworks to optimize risk controls.
• Implement clear risk reporting structures for senior leadership to enhance decision-making.
• Oversee real-time liability management across all active markets.
• Identify and mitigate sharp action, arbitrage, and coordinated activity to protect margins.
• Analyze hold performance and margin volatility, collaborating with trading and fraud teams.
• Build and structure the risk function, defining KPIs and accountability frameworks.
• Promote a disciplined, data-driven risk culture across the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sportsbook risk or senior trading risk roles.
• Previous experience in a Tier-1 sportsbook environment is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of stabilizing or improving sportsbook margin performance.
• Deep understanding of sharp vs recreational betting behavior and arbitrage detection.
• Strong analytical capability and commercial judgment.
• Experience operating in fast-growth or international markets is advantageous.

• Experience in risk analytics and performance modeling.
• Familiarity with customer segmentation and limit management strategy.
• Proven ability to challenge assumptions and implement structured improvements.
