Head of People Operations - Global HR Leadership
About the Role
We are seeking a Head of People Operations to lead our global HR initiatives in a fully remote capacity. As the Head of People Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the HR landscape of our fast-growing nonprofit organization. This position is ideal for a strategic HR leader with a passion for building high-performing teams and a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.
What You'll Do
- Oversee global HR operations across the U.S., Mexico, and Colombia, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and payroll regulations.
- Design and manage onboarding and offboarding processes, proactively identifying and mitigating compliance risks.
- Lead payroll strategy and execution, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees.
- Conduct global compensation benchmarking and market analysis to ensure competitive pay practices.
- Establish and maintain the HRIS as the single source of truth for employee data, ensuring accurate tracking of roles and compensation.
- Build scalable HR processes to support performance management, recruiting, and workforce planning.
- Lead and develop the HR operations team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Support the development of a more efficient internal recruiting engine to facilitate high-volume hiring during growth periods.
Requirements
- 7-15 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on global HR operations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
- Experience supporting organizations with approximately 100+ employees.
- Strong understanding of global labor law differences and compliance risks.
- Demonstrated experience in onboarding, offboarding, and managing workforce changes.
- Comfortable making decisions with professionalism and empathy.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics.
Nice to Have
- Background in consulting, professional services, or tech staffing environments.
- International HR experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with performance management systems and processes.
