Material Master Data Expert - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Material Master Data Expert to join our innovative team at Isar Aerospace. This remote role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and strategic usability of material master data across our enterprise, enabling seamless operations and data-driven decision-making across Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, and Sales.

What You'll Do

• Establish and enforce data governance standards, rules, and validation frameworks for all material-related data objects.
• Maintain high data quality by identifying inconsistencies, duplicates, and gaps; coordinate corrective actions with business stakeholders.
• Oversee end-to-end creation, extension, change, and archival of material master records in SAP (MM, PP, SD, FI views).
• Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes, templates, and workflows to ensure data accuracy related to material types, units of measure, classifications, and procurement types.
• Serve as the central point of expertise for material master topics across Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Finance.
• Partner with IT/SAP teams on enhancements, automation concepts, system upgrades, and master-data-related testing.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements (REACH, RoHS, export control, hazardous materials).
• Analyze data usage patterns and recommend data model improvements to streamline operations and reduce complexity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP product ownership and solution architecture.
• Deep experience with SAP Material Master (ECC or S/4HANA) including MM, PP, SD, and FI views.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
• Ability to communicate complex data concepts in business language.
• Experience with data migration and automation tools (RPA, SAP BTP).

Nice to Have

• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or regulated industries.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
• Proficiency in German language.
