Head of Digital Trading & Merchandising - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We’re excited to announce an opening for a Head of Digital Trading & Merchandising remote position at The Very Group. As a key player in our digital retail team, you will help shape the future of how customers discover and shop with us. Reporting directly to the Digital Director, you will lead all digital trading and merchandising efforts across our websites and app, ensuring a seamless and engaging shopping experience for our customers.

What You'll Do

• Deliver revenue targets and budget expectations for the digital trading team.
• Lead all onsite trading and merchandising activities to maximize commercial performance.
• Continuously improve conversion rates in line with agreed targets.
• Build and refine processes that support smart, data-led merchandising and trading decisions.
• Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team to drive success.
• Translate data into clear stories and share meaningful insights with stakeholders.
• Oversee workflow across the team, including request tracking, prioritization, and approvals.
• Anticipate future needs in people, tech, and ways of working, designing practical solutions.
• Drive continuous optimization through experimentation, testing, and data-led improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in digital trading and merchandising within a digital retail environment.
• Deep knowledge of merchandising principles, tools, and best practices.
• Strong proficiency with analytics and optimization platforms such as GA4, Power BI, Content Square, Similarweb, Celebrus, or Appsflyer.
• Confidence in turning data into actionable insights and compelling storytelling.
• Experienced people leader with a passion for coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Brilliant communicator who can influence at every level.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across varied teams and seniority levels.
• Commercially minded, action-oriented, and energized by a fast-moving digital retail environment.
