Fullstack Software Engineer - Focus on Frontend Development

About the Role

We're looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Scout24, where you will focus on frontend development while also engaging in backend tasks. As a Fullstack Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building impactful products in a large-scale, fast-moving environment. This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model, allowing you to work remotely while also collaborating in our innovative Berlin office.

What You'll Do

• Own features end-to-end across the stack: Design, build, ship, and operate full-stack applications with a strong focus on modern frontend development using React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate deeply with product and cross-functional teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business goals into robust technical solutions.
• Build scalable systems: Develop and maintain services across frontend, backend, and database layers, ensuring solutions are scalable and production-ready.
• Contribute to technical direction: Help evaluate technical trade-offs, propose pragmatic solutions, and continuously improve our systems and engineering practices.
• Operate what you build: Take responsibility for running services in production, monitoring system health, and improving reliability and performance.

Requirements

• Strong frontend expertise: Deep experience building modern web applications with React and TypeScript, including state management and performance optimization.
• Full-stack engineering mindset: Comfortable working across the stack and collaborating on backend systems using technologies such as Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• AI-assisted development mindset: Familiar with leveraging AI-based coding tools to enhance productivity.
• Experience operating software in production: Familiar with CI/CD, observability, and incident response practices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills: Ability to translate technical complexity into clear trade-offs and practical solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
