About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker II to join our team at Hearty Helpings. This remote position involves performing a wide range of duties related to food preparation and packaging in various food service environments. As a Food Service Worker II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that meals are prepared and delivered safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Prepare or assist in the preparation of hot and cold dishes, beverages, salads, sandwiches, and bakery items.
• Follow prescribed procedures for setting up food lines and ensure proper temperature settings for menu items.
• Operate food production equipment as required to complete tasks efficiently.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain quality food service.
• Address day-to-day issues concerning equipment and food supplies, ensuring the quality of food served.
• Assist in various mission work as needed, including food distributions and meal preparations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Ability to read, understand, and follow directions.
• Experience operating cooking and food preparation equipment.
• Understanding of health, safety, and excellence standards in a commissary environment.
• Ability to remain alert in a fast-paced and noisy environment.
• Good verbal communication skills and detail-oriented approach.
• Physical endurance to stand or walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
