Finance Director - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We're hiring a Finance Director to join Aphex, a leading construction planning platform, in a remote capacity. As a Finance Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the finance function for our next growth phase. This is a unique opportunity to professionalize finance without over-engineering it, ensuring we maintain our agility as we scale. You'll inherit a working system and be tasked with building a small, efficient team that can deliver exceptional results. What You'll Do

• Own the financial model, including forecasts, scenarios, cash runway, and sensitivity analysis.
• Manage month-end close across multiple entities and ensure accurate payroll processing in four countries.
• Oversee multi-currency treasury operations and intercompany accounting.
• Systematize revenue recognition on a subscription model, billing, collections, and commission calculations.
• Build and lead a small finance team focused on automation and efficiency.
• Participate in leadership meetings, providing insights and challenging assumptions to drive better business decisions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Finance Director or Head of Finance in a scaling company.
• Strong understanding of SaaS/subscription revenue models and multi-entity, multi-currency operations.
• Exceptional FP&A skills with the ability to build and own financial models.
• Experience in building or leading finance teams with a focus on automation.
• Clear communicator who can translate financial data into actionable business decisions.

Nice to Have

• Experience scaling finance functions through significant growth phases.
• Familiarity with Xero, Chargebee, Airwallex, and Rippling.
• Investor reporting and board experience.
