About the Role

This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a healthcare environment, focusing on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks. As a Facilities Services Intern, you will assist tradespeople and develop hands-on skills that are essential in a hospital setting.

What You'll Do

• Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of MEP systems.
• Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance your skills.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of maintenance activities.
• Work under the supervision of experienced tradespeople to learn best practices.
• Handle hazardous materials safely and responsibly.
• Support the repair of building interiors to ensure a safe environment.
• Comply with safety and quality programs, adhering to Joint Commission requirements.
• Contribute to a patient-centered care environment through your work.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or have completed a Facilities Maintenance Technology program.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.
• Detail-oriented with a professional attitude towards work.
• Knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment is a plus.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Effective communication skills in English are essential.
• No prior experience is required, making this a great opportunity for learning.
• Commitment to a minimum of six months is expected.
