Event Planning Manager - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Event Planning Manager to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As an Event Planning Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our presence at various State Optometric Association events. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with our internal event planning team to ensure the successful execution of events from start to finish.

What You'll Do

• Plan and execute events that align with the goals of the enterprise, ensuring successful execution from start to post-event evaluations.
• Manage logistics, including registration, attendee tracking, and presentation support.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party event groups for event execution, including booth builds and labor.
• Prepare and track budgets, providing periodic progress reports for each event project.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement for future events.
• Work with the Experiential Marketing team and Regional Managers to facilitate pre-alignment calls with key representatives.
• Utilize software tools such as Asana, Microsoft Suite, and SharePoint for effective project management.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, hospitality, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in an event planner-oriented position.
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in budget management and planning.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the healthcare or optical industry.
• Familiarity with event sponsorship and executing sponsorship opportunities.
• Previous experience working with associations and event groups.
