Entry-Level LIMS Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an Entry-Level LIMS Specialist to join our team at Thorne. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to support the daily operation and continuous improvement of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). As a LIMS Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the system's functionality and compliance in a cGMP-regulated environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide day-to-day Tier 1 support for LIMS users, including issue triage, troubleshooting, and resolution under the guidance of senior LIMS staff.
• Assist with system configuration activities such as test setup, workflows, templates, and master data updates.
• Support the implementation of new or revised methods, workflows, or processes to enhance QA and QC Laboratory operations.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and training materials related to LIMS.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist end users with new/existing software functions related to LIMS.
• Ensure compliance with software testing and validation requirements, maintaining data integrity standards.
• Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and improvement projects as assigned.
• Collaborate with the system vendor for configuration and troubleshooting issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or bachelor’s degree coursework in Life Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in a laboratory, quality, technical support, or regulated environment preferred.
• Experience with computer systems and strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• Familiarity with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn other computer systems.
• Knowledge of programming languages and reporting software (e.g., SQL, Tableau) is desirable.

Nice to Have

• Prior exposure to LIMS or laboratory systems.
• Experience with scripting and markup languages (i.e., JavaScript, HTML).
