About the Role

Join SpaceX as an Entry Level Laser Production Technician (remote) and contribute to the ambitious Starlink project, which aims to provide reliable internet worldwide. As a Laser Production Technician, you will play a crucial role in the production of Starlink satellites, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

What You'll Do

  • Build small electrical sub-assemblies by following precise work instructions to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform optic assembly processes, including epoxy application, UV curing, and oven curing.
  • Engage in fiber optic splicing and fiber routing.
  • Operate complex automated equipment, maintaining and troubleshooting with Engineering guidance.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment, tracking calibration schedules.
  • Work effectively in a clean room environment, adhering to cleanliness protocols.
  • Perform test setups to support developments across various test regimes.
  • Manage schedule priorities and execute work independently to meet company deliverables.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalency certificate.
  • 1+ years of hands-on work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing company or high-volume manufacturing company is preferred.
  • Proficient in using a PC, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in setting up and running tests and experiments.
  • Ability to read and interpret layout drawings, mechanical drawings, and assembly procedures.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Associate degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
