Engineering Manager - Billing & Business Systems

About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Billing & Business Systems team at Manychat. This is a remote position that allows you to work from anywhere in Europe. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our platform, which is designed to help creators maximize their engagement and sales through innovative chat marketing solutions. You will lead a talented team and ensure that we continue to deliver high-quality features that meet the needs of our 1.5 million customers worldwide. What You'll Do

• Provide technical leadership by guiding architecture and technical decisions to ensure scalability and adherence to best practices.
• Identify roadblocks and implement effective solutions to keep teams on track and productive.
• Plan team growth, recruit, mentor, and motivate engineers while fostering a strong feedback culture.
• Evaluate and enhance team performance through regular feedback and performance management.
• Collaborate with the Area Product Owner and other Engineering Managers to align on long-term strategy and OKRs.
• Optimize processes to improve workflows and elevate team efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews, system design, and occasionally engage in coding to coach the team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience successfully leading and scaling cross-functional development teams as an Engineering Manager.
• Proficiency in English and experience working with global teams.
• Expertise in software development and architecture design, with experience in high-load systems being a plus.
• Familiarity with PHP 8.* as a developer.
• Proven track record of improving engineering processes and increasing team efficiency.
• Ability to build trust-based relationships with Product and Engineering teams.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and principles.

Nice to Have

• Experience in chat marketing or related fields.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages.
• Experience with cloud services and deployment.
