Electrical Design Engineer - Remote Opportunities
About the Role
We're hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to join CERN's innovative team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in electrical engineering while supporting the design of low voltage distribution networks. As an Electrical Design Engineer remote, you will contribute to significant projects that shape the future of technology and research.
What You'll Do
- Design electrical distribution circuits, focusing on low voltage networks.
- Prepare calculation notes, lighting studies, and earthing studies.
- Create design drawings related to single line diagrams and prepare bills of material for electrical equipment.
- Utilize low voltage design calculation tools such as ElecCalc or Caneco.
- Support upgrades of the Meyrin Computer Centre UPS network and participate in Long Shutdown 3 projects.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in designing low voltage distribution networks.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Knowledge of LV standards, protection systems, and earthing systems.
- Experience with medium voltage distribution networks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of power systems, including voltage drop and short circuit calculations.
Nice to Have
- Experience with E-PLAN or similar secondary design software.
- Ability to communicate in both English and French.
- Commitment to learn the basics of the other language.
