Director of Engineering - Remote Leadership Role
About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to join our team in a remote capacity. As a key leadership figure, you will oversee technical operations and engineering teams, driving the development and execution of engineering strategies. What You'll Do
- Lead and manage Engineering managers and Agile Delivery Leads of cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration among engineers, QA, and Product managers.
- Contribute to product and technical strategies, aligning engineering efforts with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with senior staff across departments to develop delivery strategies, including product roadmaps and platform changes.
- Drive Agile practices, working closely with the Agile Delivery Lead to ensure efficient project execution.
- Develop and maintain engineering processes and best practices for high-quality software development.
- Monitor team performance, providing feedback and making data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency.
- Act as a mentor for engineering managers and software engineers, fostering their professional growth.
- Hire, nurture, coach, and retain talent within the Engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional software engineering teams with a focus on Agile methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong technical background in software development and modern software architectures.
- Experience in managing engineering managers and guiding their growth.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and deliver high-quality software on time.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with performance marketing data and solutions.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and API-first development.
- Knowledge of PHP, Python, JavaScript (React), and Kafka.
