Design Student Intern - High School (Remote Opportunity)

About the Role

We are excited to offer a Design Student Intern position that allows you to gain hands-on experience in the architecture and design field. This Design Student Intern role is a fantastic opportunity for recent high school graduates who are passionate about pursuing a career in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. As a Design Student Intern, you will work under the supervision of a Licensed Architect and project leadership, providing you with a chance to be a part of our multi-disciplinary team.

What You'll Do

• Participate in and observe the design process, gaining insights into real-world projects.
• Assist in the review of construction phase documentation, learning about the critical aspects of project development.
• Attend project, team, and office meetings to understand the collaborative nature of design work.
• Explore various software platforms such as Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Sketch-up, and Grasshopper.
• Help with building physical models, enhancing your practical skills in design.
• Conduct product research to support project development and innovation.
• Attend in-house project team meetings to contribute ideas and learn from experienced professionals.
• Perform other duties as required, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the design process.

Requirements

• Must be a recent high school graduate with a strong interest in pursuing a degree in the AEC industry.
• Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, and organizational skills are preferred.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of design software is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with design software such as Revit or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Previous internship or volunteer experience in a related field.
• A portfolio showcasing your design work or projects.
