About the Role

We are seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to join our team at Kraken, a leading cryptocurrency exchange. As a Data Center Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and enhancing Kraken's infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and security of our services.

What You'll Do

• Perform highly skilled preventative and corrective maintenance on critical exchange infrastructure.
• Conduct installations on complex server and network infrastructure.
• Provide hands-on facility support, including the installation and decommissioning of equipment.
• Manage asset and inventory, ensuring all work complies with established practices and local legislation.
• Assist with basic network configuration for out-of-band device access.
• Monitor and maintain all physical infrastructure, responding to critical problems to maximize service uptime.
• Assume on-call responsibilities and travel as needed to support physical data centers.
• Contribute to capacity planning and management, scaling, and interconnecting with other data centers.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in data center operations within a highly security-focused environment.
• Experience working in a large-scale data center environment.
• Basic knowledge of IP addressing and subnet configuration.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform well under pressure with high attention to detail.
• Physical capability to lift more than 25 kgs.
• A valid passport and driving license are mandatory due to travel requirements.
