Customs Broker - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Customs Broker to join our team at AIT Worldwide Logistics. This remote opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in customs operations while contributing to a global logistics leader. As a Customs Broker, you will ensure compliance with all customs regulations and facilitate the smooth flow of goods across borders.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, review, and submit customs declarations for imports and exports using IDMS and AES.
• Draft and manage transit documents via NCTS-P5.
• Ensure compliance with customs legislation and internal procedures.
• Verify HS classifications, origin documents, customs values, and tariff classifications.
• Calculate and confirm duties, VAT, and other charges.
• Communicate and follow up with customs authorities and inspection services.
• Monitor transit closures and ensure adherence to legal deadlines.
• Advise and support clients and internal teams on customs-related issues.

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a Customs Operator, Customs Declarant, or in a similar logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of Belgian and European customs legislation.
• Proven experience with IDMS, AES, and NCTS-P5.
• Strong understanding of HS classification, origin rules, and customs valuation.
• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Excellent digital skills and familiarity with customs systems.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Streamsoftware is a strong asset.
