Compliance Officer - Remote Role at Bitso

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Officer remote to join our team at Bitso. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our operations in El Salvador adhere to all regulatory requirements, thereby supporting our mission to make cryptocurrency accessible and useful for everyone.

What You'll Do

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's compliance program to ensure adherence to federal laws and applicable regulations.
• Prepare policies for Client Identification and Knowledge (KYC) to verify compliance with documentation requirements.
• Ensure compliance with orders related to securing or unblocking accounts concerning AML/TF matters.
• Define criteria, measures, and procedures to comply with regulations effectively.
• Conduct regular audits to identify potential weaknesses or risks in compliance.
• Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit findings.
• Coordinate with regulators for audits and compliance requirements.
• Develop and deliver compliance training for employees.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in compliance, preferably in the cryptocurrency or financial sectors.
• Strong understanding of AML/TF regulations and KYC processes.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with regulatory bodies and internal teams.
• Proven ability to manage compliance audits and training programs.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to assess compliance risks.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a remote work environment.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency regulations in Latin America.
• Knowledge of compliance software tools.
