Cloud Infrastructure Architect - Security-Focused Role
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join our team at Damia Group. This role is based in Farnborough, United Kingdom, and offers a competitive salary of up to £92,000 per annum. As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, securing, and operating cloud and virtualized infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid environments. This position requires a commitment to security, as you will need to undergo UK Security Vetting at DV level, with clearance sponsorship provided where necessary.
What You'll Do
- Lead the build phase for the Joint Environment for Data-Centric Interoperability - eXperimentation (JEDI-X), overseeing the technical team.
- Enhance the utilization of JEDI-X through the experimentation phase of Integrated by Design (IBD).
- Maintain and secure the organization’s multi-classification, virtualized, collaboration, and development environments.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure colleagues to improve the 'Secure by Design' capabilities across projects.
- Provide infrastructure support for the organization’s public cloud SaaS offerings, including Office 365.
- Perform maintenance tasks on the infrastructure through change control processes.
- Monitor and manage the company’s ticketing and alerting systems for new changes and security alerts.
- Quickly assess incidents, initiate return to service, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Windows Server 2016+ administration.
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere/vCenter/VCF and Azure/Microsoft 365 administration.
- Familiarity with Linux distributions such as CentOS, RedHat, or Ubuntu.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with EUD provisioning (Autopilot), maintenance, patching, and hardening.
- Understanding of Single Sign-On (SSO) concepts and operations.
- Experience working in protectively marked environments.
- Ability to work in Agile sprints.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes administration, particularly VMware TKGI.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling, Elastic, and Nessus.
- Experience with application packaging and HashiCorp tools like Terraform and Vault.
