Chief Operating Officer - Web3 Focus

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join Sei Development Foundation, a pioneer in the Web3 space. As a Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the operational aspects of our innovative blockchain company, ensuring our day-to-day business operations align with our strategic vision. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of blockchain technology while working remotely.

What You'll Do

• Own the operational performance of the company, including finance, compliance, and people operations.
• Set and hold accountability for OKRs and KPIs across all functions to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
• Directly manage functional leads across operations, finance, and legal/compliance.
• Drive organizational design decisions in partnership with the Executive Director (ED).
• Recruit, develop, and retain senior talent across the business to build a high-performing team.
• Oversee the operating budget and P&L in collaboration with the finance team.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions, particularly in the evolving Web3 landscape.
• Partner with the ED to translate vision into operational roadmaps and lead integration efforts post-investment or partnership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in operations, with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of scaling a startup through growth inflection points (e.g., Series A to B).
• Deep understanding of Web3 infrastructure, DeFi, or fintech regulatory environments.
• Experience managing globally distributed teams, with knowledge of EOR structures and multi-jurisdiction compliance.
• Strong financial acumen; ability to read and challenge a P&L statement.

Nice to Have

• Experience in tokenomics operations and treasury management.
• Familiarity with on-chain governance processes.
• Experience managing exchange listing operations and custodian relationships.
