Blast Supervisor - Remote Opportunity at BHP

About the Role

We are seeking a Blast Supervisor - Remote Opportunity to join our team at BHP. This role is critical in ensuring safe and efficient production outcomes across the Goonyella operation. As a Blast Supervisor, you will coordinate daily blast activities and support a high-performing work environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support the Blast crew to deliver safe, compliant, and effective blast outcomes.
• Oversee daily shot preparations, timing, QA/QC checks, and blast initiation.
• Collaborate closely with Drill & Blast Engineers, Shotfirers, and Production teams to achieve schedule requirements.
• Contribute to a culture that prioritizes safety, teamwork, continuous improvement, and clear communication.
• Support training, coaching, and development of team members.
• Champion inclusive and respectful ways of working across the blast team.

Requirements

• Shotfirer accreditation / Queensland Shotfirer Tickets.
• Previous supervisory experience within a Drill & Blast or blasting operations team on a coal mine site.
• Strong knowledge of drill & blast planning, field operations, and safety processes.
• The ability to build trusting relationships and support others to perform at their best.
• A calm, inclusive, and proactive approach to decision-making.
• A commitment to maintaining a positive safety culture and high operational standards.

Nice to Have

• Experience with advanced blasting techniques.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to blasting operations.
• Certification in safety management systems.
