Bilingual Eligibility Specialist - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Eligibility Specialist to join our team at YWCA Metropolitan Chicago. This Bilingual Eligibility Specialist remote position plays a crucial role in assisting childcare assistance service applicants and providers in navigating the eligibility process for CCAP and CACFP services. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with IDHS, IDVA, and ISBE guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Respond promptly to service requests via calls, emails, and in-person visits.
- Evaluate client needs and facilitate referrals to appropriate community services.
- Determine eligibility for CCAP and Tummy services.
- Collect and manage documentation for clients and providers.
- Provide technical assistance to clients and providers as needed.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate case records.
- Monitor and manage childcare provider documentation requirements.
- Participate in administrative meetings and promote YWCA programs.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or two years of customer service experience.
- 1-3 years of prior customer service experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Fluency in English and a second language, demonstrating cultural competency.
- Must be able to work effectively with clients under stress.

- Experience in early childhood education or related fields.
- Additional certifications related to customer service or eligibility assessment.
